Well, what our food is cooked in is just as important as the main ingredient! That's why we never use processed sugars, seed oils, or common allergens in the preparation of our meals.
Level 1: Carbs; The Complex Kind
Complex carbs take the smallest level of our food pyramid, but for good reason. Complex carbs are great for us but in moderation. A little bit goes a long way with these guys, acting as our bodies preferred efficient fuel source! Good complex carbs like rice, beans, and potatoes are crucial to living a healthy lifestyle.
Level 2: Veggies & Fruits; We Flipped This Too
Packed with an endless amount of essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber, veggies and fruits take the middle level of our food pyramid. Just like carbs, veggies and fruits play a big role in ensuring our bodies function correctly. These colorful foods contain the vitamins and minerals responsible for proper cell function and fiber needed for digestion. Moderation is still important, but unlike carbs, indulging at this level is slightly encouraged!
Level 3: Protein, Protein; More Protein
Protein takes the largest and last level of our food pyramid. Every cell in the human body contains protein. Protein is an extremely important building block for cellular repair and muscle growth. Put simply, the consumption of protein is as important for our bodies as drinking enough water is. Oz for Oz, protein has some of the highest nutritional value found in our food.
